From Scratch Lavender Cold Processed Soap Making - Color Morphing using Purple Kaolin Clay!

Today we are diving into all natural colorants and the color-morphing that can happen when you are using clays, herbal infusions, etc. This Purple Kaolin Clay looked amazing once I mixed it up in the soap batter but once it saponified I was shocked to see the color change. It didn't even resemble the color in the package. I will use this colorant again but maybe in my Rose or my floral bouquet soaps. The Rose color was amazing but not exactly what I was going to with my Lavender. I may try rhubarb powder or Madder root next time to see what happens.
