There's cheaper alternative to flood insurance

While most Tri-State residents don't have to fear the damaging flooding we saw from Hurricane Harvey in Texas, homeowners along the Ohio River and some local creeks and streams face the risk of serious damage from flooding - and many are not covered by flood insurance. If you don't live in a flood plain, but your neighborhood is susceptible to flooding, one alternative to costly flood insurance is sewer backup protection. That's about $50 per year.
