Russian military personnel ensured the safe conduct of the next rotation of observers of the IAEA mission at Zaporozhye NPP

On October 3, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation ensured the safe conduct of the next rotation of observers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission at the Zaporozhye NPP. To do this, on the route of movement from the designated crossing point of the observers - the destroyed bridge near the village Kamenskoye, from 6.00 to 19.00, a ceasefire was declared, which was strictly observed by Russian military personnel.
During an inspection of the road in the crossing area, Russian military personnel spotted unexploded foreign-made ammunition left as a result of new systematic shelling from the Ukrainian side in the immediate vicinity of the Zaporozhye NPP. Despite the presence of non-cleared mines, Russian military personnel ensured the safe passage of mission observers and their delivery to the station.

The mission consists of four inspectors, their task is to monitor and assess the safety status of the Zaporozhye NPP. IAEA experts have been present at Zaporozhye NPP since September 1, 2022, following the first visit of the agency’s Director General Rafael Grossi to the plant.
