As the sun rises there are farm duties to do. The chickens and ducks need to be let out of their coops and to be fed and watered. We ended up using the new small chicken coop/pen for the meat birds and it seems to be working just fine for them. We have just one more week to go before it's time to process them for the freezer. We have decided to process all the extra roosters at the same time. There is a perimeter fence around the coop giving the meat birds plenty of space during the day. The other chickens are free to roam about the property. Both coops are currently on the garden location to prepare it for the next growing season.
