Tasting Autumn ||Fairytale pumpkins, Virginia Apples and whipping up Fall flavors || #fall #homemade

In the Little House where the Pixies are adopting as many orphaned pumpkins as possible, the time has come to whip up fall treats and restore our pantry stock of all things’ apple. All the while adding touches of Fall to every corner of the kitchen in the little house.
So, we took a little minute to get on down the road and collect cases of Virginia apples and fairytale pumpkins from Charlies U-Pik in Lucedale, Mississippi, and escort them back to our kitchen for transformation into Cinderella pumpkin muffins, and jars of spiced apple sauce and apple butter…all without a fairy godmother in sight!
But just because we haven’t seen her yet doesn’t mean we are not prepared…Fairytale pumpkins now lounge about in various spaces around the house on the off chance that they could become enchanted carriages.
And since the Pixies are fairly certain they heard a mouse in the attic we may also have the necessary footman and driver for any pumpkins turned whimsical carriages. (It’s not that the Pixies have exceptional hearing, but rather that the mouse sounds like he may be six feet tall and dragging a trunk behind him as he is moving in…which is likely to be a short-lived situation)
With the pumpkins in their places, we went to work on transforming the fruits of Autumn into a pantry of goodies to feed us throughout the winter and coming year.
Once all the hard work was finally completed and the pantry had been restocked, the Pixies hurried to set a table for tea and to enjoy the fruit of their labor …and I have it on good authority (the guileless Golden Pixie) that every single creation was enchantingly delicious!
