Barcelona Embraced by ISIS
ISIS has praised last week's van attack in Barcelona, which left 13 people dead, and called for more attacks in Spain. But recent reports suggest that is not the extent of the group's role and ties to the attacks.
A court filing and a pro ISIS propaganda channel identifying Barcelona as part of its planned caliphate suggest the group has long held the Spanish city as a target and bastion for its expanse via Europe.
Given the tactics and ties to a radical Imam, the attack is the latest to underscore that despite military losses recently in the Middle East, the group is strong and continues to plot among us around the globe.
