Low Carb Down Under podcast

Sydney Diet Heart RCT study--when actually published in 2013
faced barrage of criticism...
Main criticism: 62% increase in death risk due to transfat
[they said: 'PUFA group ate margarine high in transfat']
-that is ALL they had against the published results
"But, margarine used in
PUFA group had no
transfat!"
"Pastries with transfat
were DISCOURAGED
for PUFA group"
"Safflower oil was used [no transfat]"

Summary: transfat in PUFA group was reduced...
TRUTH: polyunsaturated fats, as RECOMMENDED by current
government dietary guidelines, was CULPRIT in deaths up 62%
"This was long term, randomized, control trial--hidden 40 years"

Minnesota Coronary Survey, 1973, double-blind, RCT, 9000
men & women...High sat fat vs High PUFA diet
NEVER PUBLISHED until data found, published 2016--
hard to believe the corruption!
High PUFA diet increased risk of dying
Before his death, lead author
asked why it was not published...
He said: 'because results were
disappointing!!

2 huge studies hoping to prove polyunsaturated fats
[low cost darlings of food industry] were healthy...
results WERE HIDDEN because they were DISAPPOINTING
to the funders!
