The march ended outside the Chinese Embassy, where there were a few more speeches. Someone (a European) tried to disrupt the speakers, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. It was just before this that my camera battery ran out (Sod's Law being what it is), so I didn't capture it on video. The police escorted him away. It is why the last speaker raises her voice so much, to try and drown out what he was saying.

"IT IS A Chinese state-owned company that is implicated in disturbing human rights violations. But that has not stopped Hikvision from gaining a major foothold in the United Kingdom. Through a network of corporate partners, the Hangzhou-based security firm has supplied its surveillance cameras for use on the British parliamentary estate, as well as to police, hospitals, schools, and universities throughout the country, according to sources and procurement records.
Hikvision, whose technology the U.S. government recently banned federal agencies from purchasing, is generating millions of dollars in annual revenue selling its technology to British companies and organizations. At the same time, it has been helping to establish an oppressive surveillance state in the Xinjiang region of China, where the Uighur ethnic minorities have been held in secret internment camps.

"Under Mao Tsetung's dictatorship, the Communist Party of China (CCP) came to power and established the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949, after the then-ruling Kuomintang Government (The Nationalist – Republic of China – now Taiwan) was overthrown. Mao then ordered his PLA troops to invade East Turkestan and Tibet. Both these countries are still under the illegal occupation of the People's Republic of China. At 3 pm on Sunday, crowds of protesters gathered at St Martins-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, where leading activists addressed the rally."

"For the last six years in a row, US think-tank Freedom House has ranked Tibet among the worst places in the world for civil rights and political freedom."

"Another example of the FCO's willingness to kowtow to nasty regimes has been flagged up in another newspaper, where a columnist researching ahead of a recent visit to China came across a remarkable statement from the Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, slipped out on the FCO website on October 29 2008, just before representatives of the Dalai Lama were due to hold talks in Beijing on the future of Tibet.
Buried in the statement was Britain's recognition for the first time that, like "all other members of the EU… we regard Tibet as part of the People's Republic of China". The historic significance of this change was not lost on Beijing, since until then Britain, with its unique role in Tibet's history, had for 100 years been very careful not to recognise Chinese sovereignty over Tibet. The group known as Free Tibet noted that Miliband's concession gravely weakened the position of the Tibetan envoys without getting anything in return – commenting how extraordinary it was that Britain should have "rewarded China in such a way in the very year that China has committed its worst human rights abuses in Tibet in decades, including killing and torture"."

For the avoidance of any doubt regarding the nature of the CCP:
"The final judgment of the Independent Tribunal into Forced Organ Harvesting from Prisoners of Conscience in China Tribunal, published in March 2020, concluded that forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience has been practiced for a substantial period of time involving a very substantial number of victims. On June 14, 2021, 12 United Nations Special Procedures mandate holders said they were “extremely alarmed” by reports of alleged ‘organ harvesting’ targeting minorities, including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims and Christians, in detention in China, and called upon the PRC government to “allow independent monitoring by international human rights mechanisms.”"

"Tibet has been an independent nation since ancient time, and it has never been a part of China anywhere in its history. It was only in 1949, that the communist China forcefully occupied Tibet, and unleashed its draconian rule in the region."
