How Does a Known Fencing Operation Stay OPEN Next to a San Francisco Police Station?

As if life in the Bay Area wasn't already a theater of the absurd, imagine this: You find your expensive, newly purchased camera equipment missing, use an app to track it down, and discover it's residing near a "known fencing operation." The cherry on top? The operation is located less than a block from a local police station. That's right, folks, just a brisk walk away from the very institution designed to enforce the law. Makes you wonder what exactly is being served and protected here.

Justin Chuck is one of thousands who've had their property swiped in Oakland this year. Chuck's case, however, became especially Kafkaesque when he reached out to the police. He was bluntly informed that the location where his stolen gear ended up is known to law enforcement. Even San Francisco city supervisors seem uninterested in taking any effective action. One supervisor even had the gall to suggest that the solution to the problem was simply for people not to leave items in their cars. Forget about public safety, right? Instead, it seems the onus falls squarely on the shoulders of the victim. What a time to be alive.
