Stray Cat Demands Food (10-03-23)

Since we've had the opossum issue, I can no longer just leave food out. But Cassidy still comes by to eat I just have to watch the cameras more closely. When he comes by and I see him (or any cat) come by, I rush to the door to drop them a little something to eat. Feeding feral stray cats is sometimes all the kindness you can show them. But always try to make sure they are neutered or spayed. More homeless cats = more problems. For the cats, the environment, and everyone.

As you know, this channel is entirely focused on helping stray animals. Aside from highlighting adoptable animals in need, and the rescues that help them....one of our favorite activities on this channel is to feed stray and feral animals as it's a simple, easy and merciful act. I have been leaving food out and apparently a cat has been eating it. But my cameras haven't been great at picking him up. Well I manually tracked the cameras and recorded, we found our culprit. Meet this cute dude. I call him "Cassidy", named after the vampire from the comic book and AMC series "Preacher".

Please spay and neuter your pets. And if you find a stray who isn't fixed, reach out to a local animal rescue and try to ensure that they are treated. Cat overpopulation is a horrible issue that hurts animals, humans and most importantly, our environment. Cats can make the most incredible companions and friends. But left alone in the environment, they are an invasive species. Their ability to breed rapidly, and ferocity combine to create a genuine problem for the areas around them. By helping to control feral populations, you can make a significant impact on the environment and in the end, climate change. We seek to humanely trap and neuter animals. Depending on their temperament and history, some are released back into the wild while others are found forever homes. But the ultimate goal is to fight stray animal overpopulation using humane methods.
