The Pelagic Porcupinefish, also known as the oceanic porcupinefish, is a species of fish belonging to the Diodontidae family. These fish are found in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide. They have a distinctive appearance with spines on their body that can be raised as a defense mechanism. These spines, when erect, make them appear larger and less appetizing to potential predators. Pelagic porcupinefish are known for their ability to inflate their bodies with water when threatened, further deterring predators. They primarily feed on small invertebrates and occasionally on small fish.
