SC2022-1123 In Re: Amendments to Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.191 and Florida Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.140
Begins about 10:50 a.m. ET

Looks like an interesting lineup. The first case involves a certified question from the 11th Circuit in a lawsuit filed by the NAACP et al. to enjoin enforcement of an anti-riot act which was passed in Florida in the wake of the George Floyd protests. The certified question is how does Florida want “riot” defined.
Second case is a death penalty case from my office. My division chief will be doing the oral argument. If you want to see a brilliant appellate mind at work, now is your chance.
The last case involves objections by the FACDL and so forth to a newish statute that elevates a beefed-up speedy trial recapture window for the State to near-insuperability. Judge Tom Winokur of the First DCA will argue for the Criminal Rules Committee.
