Ο Πρόεδρος Σι αποτίει φόρο τιμής στους εθνικούς ήρωες την Ημέρα των Μαρτύρων

Ο Πρόεδρος Xi Jinping και άλλοι ηγέτες του Κομμουνιστικού Κόμματος της Κίνας (CPC) και του κράτους παρουσίασαν καλάθια με λουλούδια στο Μνημείο των Ηρώων του Λαού στην πλατεία Τιαν Ανμέν στο Πεκίνο το Σάββατο, αποτίοντας φόρο τιμής στους πεσόντες εθνικούς ήρωες στην Ημέρα των Εθνομαρτύρων.
Ο Σι, επίσης γενικός γραμματέας της Κεντρικής Επιτροπής του ΚΚΚ και πρόεδρος της Κεντρικής Στρατιωτικής Επιτροπής, ενώθηκε με εκπροσώπους από διάφορους κύκλους για να τιμήσει την Ημέρα των Μαρτύρων ενόψει της Εθνικής Ημέρας που πέφτει φέτος την Κυριακή.
Άλλοι ανώτεροι ηγέτες συμπεριλαμβανομένων των Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi και Han Zheng παρευρέθηκαν επίσης στην εκδήλωση.
Η εκδήλωση ξεκίνησε στις 10:00, με στρατιωτικό συγκρότημα να παίζει τρομπέτες για να τιμήσει τη μνήμη των μαρτύρων.
Όλοι οι συμμετέχοντες τραγούδησαν τον εθνικό ύμνο και στη συνέχεια απέτισαν σιωπηλό φόρο τιμής σε όσους έδωσαν τη ζωή τους για την απελευθέρωση του κινεζικού λαού και την οικοδόμηση της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας της Κίνας, η οποία ιδρύθηκε την 1η Οκτωβρίου 1949.
Αφού μια ομάδα παιδιών τραγούδησε ένα πατριωτικό τραγούδι, η τιμητική φρουρά έβαλε καλάθια με λουλούδια μπροστά από το Μνημείο των Ηρώων του Λαού.
Ο Σι ίσιωσε τις κόκκινες κορδέλες στα καλάθια και οδήγησε μια ομάδα ανώτερων αξιωματούχων σε μια βόλτα γύρω από το μνημείο για να αποτίσει φόρο τιμής.
Παιδιά και άλλοι παρευρισκόμενοι κατέθεσαν επίσης λουλούδια στους πρόποδες του μνημείου.
Η εκδήλωση φιλοξενήθηκε από τον Γιν Λι, μέλος του Πολιτικού Γραφείου της Κεντρικής Επιτροπής του ΚΚΚ και επίσης γραμματέα της Δημοτικής Επιτροπής του ΚΚΚ του Πεκίνου.
Ο θεμέλιος λίθος του Μνημείου των Ηρώων του Λαού τέθηκε στις 30 Σεπτεμβρίου 1949, την παραμονή της ίδρυσης της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας.
Το 2014, το Εθνικό Λαϊκό Κογκρέσο της Κίνας όρισε την 30η Σεπτεμβρίου ως Ημέρα των Μαρτύρων για να τιμήσει εκείνους που θυσίασαν τη ζωή τους για την εθνική ανεξαρτησία και ευημερία.

Xi pays tribute to national heroes on Martyrs' Day
President Xi Jinping and other leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the state presented flower baskets at the Monument to the People's Heroes at the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on Saturday, paying their tribute to fallen national heroes on the National Martyrs' Day.
Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, joined representatives from various circles to mark the Martyrs' Day ahead of the National Day which falls on Sunday this year.
Other senior leaders including Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi and Han Zheng also attended the event.　
The event began at 10:00, with a military band playing trumpets to commemorate the martyrs.
All participants sang the national anthem and then paid a silent tribute to those who laid down their lives to the liberation of the Chinese people and the construction of the People's Republic of China, which was founded on Oct. 1, 1949.
After a group of children sang a patriotic song, the honor guard laid flower baskets in front of the Monument to the People's Heroes.
Xi straightened the red ribbons on the baskets and led a group of senior officials in a walk around the monument to pay tribute.　　
Children and other attendees also laid flowers at the foot of the monument.
The event was hosted by Yin Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and also secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
The foundation stone of the Monument to the People's Heroes was laid on Sept. 30, 1949, on the eve of the founding of the People's Republic.
In 2014, China's National People's Congress designated Sept. 30 as the Martyrs' Day to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives for national independence and prosperity.
