Jesus chose two men by the name of Jude (or Judas) to be among the twelve disciples (John 14:22; Acts 1:13).

Judas of Iscariot that betrayed Jesus.

AND

Jude that was a half-brother of Jesus and brother of James, leader of the first Jerusalem church. This Jude was the son of Mary and Joseph and would have been raised as a brother to Jesus Christ (Mark 6:3).

This Jude is the author of the New Testament book by that name. In Jude 1:1, he identifies himself as “a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James.”

It is interesting that Jude, nor James, makes mention of the biological relation with Jesus, while in servitude to Him.

The book of Jude warns of the false teachers that lead people to following false teaching,s that are not in line with God's will, according to having righteousness with God.

He gives many examples of people that did not have faith in God, according to His righteousness, and turned from God in past covenants and arrangements, and corrupted what God set out.

Charged with the sin of unbelief, and rebellion towards God, and false teachings.

The devil and his angels rebelling to what God set out, to His creation rebelling to what God set out, to His own people corrupting what He set out while in unbelief.

So, Jude warns to not be corrupted by this false teaching and do not fall into the same trap they did, do not rebel against what God set out, so much, to falsely teach or led men astray in lies, that deny our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He encourages you to trust Jesus, that can keep you from falling, according to the simple truth of the promise of God, in His Son Jesus Christ.
