Grace VanderWaal in Elsewhere (NYC) -- 6th 7th & 8th songs -- music reaction

And the sublime fun just keeps going. Grace has evolved on stage into a virtual cabaret free spirit (a la Liza Mannelli). Absolutely mesmerizing as not just a lyricist and vocalist but also as a splendid, fluid, dynamic, artistic force of nature. In this section of her Elsewhere set, I react to the simmering "Highway" (with Grace giving us that tension-breaking release near the end), and the utterly sublime "Drive," adding an extra verse at the end while simultaneously revealing a vulnerability that I personally have never seen on stage, and then her head-banging, Patti Smith-like screeching version of Harry Nillson's "One," which is now my favorite version of that song. Grace VanderWaal is the COMPLETE performer!
