Subtracting is Adding when Goal Setting

Setting goals and intentions is cool! Being better and challenging yourself to achieve them is your duty. Success is your responsibility.
With that said, not achieving a goal set, is not a failure. It means to look back at it and adjust accordingly.
Was a plan in place? Was effort made? What was the consistency? Then answer those and make the adjustments necessary.
I've found that subtracting some parts of a habit or activity leads me towards the addition and progression in the positive towards the goal.
Example, for health. 'Drink more water 💧' do this by simply subtracting soda, energy drinks or alcohol. Replace by adding water.
Set the timer, get to work and re-Evaluate when it's time.
