In this episode, we talk about an exciting new partnership with Retro-bit where they are releasing Assault Suits Valken, complete for the very first time outside of Japan in a Collector's and Deluxe Edition. Assault Suits Valken: Collectors & Deluxe Editions will be Coming Soon, in Q1 2024, specifically!

Over the past 5 years, Retro-bit has had a beautiful tendency to bring some of the best games never to see their way out of Japan back out and localized for different regions. Whether we are talking about one of their first, Holy Diver, or their more recent, Assault Suits Valken, they have done amazing work to provide fans of long-lost games the versions they've been looking for.

Their latest release, Assault Suits Valken, comes in one of two different completion levels. They are:
Assault Suits Valken: Deluxe Edition
North America (NTSC) / Europe (PAL)
MSRP (NA/EU):
$79.99 / €89,99

Assault Suits Valken: Collectors Cartridge
North America (NTSC) / Europe (PAL)
MSRP (NA/EU):
$59.99 / €64,99

Here's what Retro-bit has to say about these collections themselves:
With the depletion of fossil fuels in the 2050s, unease within the population has morphed into anger and conflict. Territorial skirmishes continued to boil until 2101 when United Pacific States and Federation forces began constructing massive artillery bases, intergalactic frigates, and heavy armor mechanized suits to use in this war that had engulfed the Earth and its moon. Jake Brain boards his ASS-117A assault suit and flies into this conflict that has erupted to make as much of a difference as one soldier can across 7 immersive stages with 4 types of upgradeable weapons.

- Japanese version of Assault Suits Valken officially localized to English
- Aurum Armor Gold 16-bit cartridge (NTSC or PAL) (Deluxe Edition)
- Bronze-shielded 16-bit cartridge (NTSC or PAL) (Collector's Edition)
- Numbered deluxe magnetic hard-cover cartridge packaging
- Full-colored instruction manual
- Hard embossed collection slipcase
- Exclusive SoundBytes Keychain (Deluxe Edition)
- Commemorative Coin (Deluxe Edition)
- Celebratory Acrylic Stand (Deluxe Edition)

Have you heard of these games before? Have you played any of the subsequent re-releases? I'm definitely interested in picking up one of each set, one with the Super Famicom-shaped cartridge and one with the Super Nintendo-shaped cartridge since I have both systems. I also think the bronze and gold cartridge collars are an interesting idea to differentiate the two different completion levels. Let me know if this is something you would consider down on the comments.
