### St. Thérèse's Spiritual Journey and Teachings:

#### 1. **Multiple Vocations:**

- St. Thérèse expressed diverse vocations and desires within her soul, including being a Carmelite, a spouse of Jesus, a mother of souls, a warrior, a priest, an apostle, a doctor, and a martyr. She longed to do heroic works for Jesus and the Church.

#### 2. **Vocation of Love:**

- She realized that her true vocation was love. She understood that love was the essence of all vocations and that it embraced all times and places. Her vocation was to be love in the heart of the Church.

#### 3. **Martyrdom of Desire:**

- St. Thérèse experienced a martyrdom of desire, longing to do more for the Church than she physically could. This desire was a form of suffering, a spiritual martyrdom, and she found fulfillment in offering her sufferings to increase love and charity in the Church.

#### 4. **Little Way and Self-Mastery:**

- St. Thérèse practiced the "Little Way," which involved small sacrifices, breaking her own will, and performing acts of love and kindness to others. Her self-mastery allowed her to maintain peace and serenity, even in the face of suffering and temptations.

#### 5. **Confidence in God:**

- She emphasized the importance of confidence in God's mercy and love. Despite her weaknesses, she relied on God's goodness and love. Confidence, she believed, was the key to overcoming discouragement and self-doubt.

#### 6. **Exterior Demeanor and Interior Control:**

- St. Thérèse stressed the significance of exterior demeanor in controlling one's interior disposition. She maintained a calm and serene exterior, even in the midst of sufferings, which reflected her inner self-mastery and trust in God.

#### 7. **Offering Small Sacrifices:**

- She valued small acts of self-mortification, considering them as valuable as great sacrifices. Small acts done with love and for the love of God held immense merit in her spirituality.

#### 8. **Confidence in God's Justice:**

- St. Thérèse believed that offering one's best efforts to God allowed His justice and love to fill in the gaps. Even if she had committed grave sins, she trusted in God's mercy to transform her imperfections.

#### 9. **Devotion to the Virgin Mary:**

- St. Thérèse encouraged a strong devotion to the Virgin Mary and believed in the power of prayer, asking for Our Lady's intercession for various intentions.

#### 10. **Impact and Canonization:**

- Despite her seemingly ordinary life, St. Thérèse's teachings and spirituality had a profound impact. She was canonized as a saint by Pope Pius XI and is considered one of the greatest saints of modern times.
