Young adults not concerned about high blood pressure

High blood pressure doesn't seem to worry young American adults as much as it does for people over 40. Researchers reviewed 40,000 surveys about high blood pressure awareness and treatment and found only about half of the nearly 7 million young adults with high blood pressure were treated for it and only 40 percent got their blood pressure under control. Young women were more aware of high blood pressure and more likely to get treatment than their male counterparts. Researchers say their findings show shortfalls in high blood pressure screening and management.
