In a disturbing incident, Alonniea Ford, a Jack In The Box drive-thru worker, was caught on video shooting at a family of three, including a pregnant mother and her 6-year-old daughter, during a heated argument over missing curly fries. Surveillance footage from March 2021 shows Ford pulling out a gun and firing at the family's car as they sped away. Prior to the shots, Ford angrily threw ketchup packets at the driver, Anthony Ramos, who retaliated by tossing items back. Ford later calmly cleaned up the aftermath. The incident led to a lawsuit filed in 2022, with Ramos and his wife seeking over $1 million in damages. The altercation began when Ramos, a Florida resident, had picked up his wife and daughter from the airport to help with Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts in Houston. The lawsuit alleges that the missing curly fries sparked the escalating argument. Ford was initially charged with aggravated assault but later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor deadly conduct. The family's lawyer, Randall L. Kallinen, called for better employee background checks to prevent such dangerous situations. He emphasized that incidents like these are becoming too common in Houston.
