AI firms are unleashing a force even they don’t understand, Michelle Donelan warns

Artificial intelligence poses future dangers because even its creators do not understand how it works, the Science and Technology Secretary has warned.
Michelle Donelan cautioned that AI may allow terrorists to develop dangerous new bio-weapons and cripple key infrastructure with cyber attacks. And she revealed that the upcoming AI safety summit hosted in Britain with dozens of world leaders attending would focus in parallel on the twin risks of misuse by bad actors and the technology running out of control and threatening humanity’s future.
