Myrcene on its own actually acts much differently than when it is found as it is typically in a standardized indica hybrid profile, be it beta or trans Caryophyllene. Trans Caryophyllene tends to be less intense immediately than Beta Caryophyllene, but don't let a high Myrcene strain low in Caryophyllene or having trans Caryophyllene not beta fool ya, it will pack a punch.
The Beavs which I'm dabbing on now is a great example of this. Over 5.5% beta Myrcene and a third level primary placement of trans Caryophyllene.
However, when at standard natural level, IE lower than Beta Caryophyllene (whatever form it is present in beta or the more common trans Caryophyllene) the Myrcene increases the sedative nature of Beta Caryophyllene. This isn't to say Myrcene ISNT sedating in itself. It is,.but it is immediately so. It hits heavy and hard then wakes and allows the remainder of the Anxiolytic and sedative terps and cannabinoids take the lead on the rest of the experience. The Beavs is very well balanced with a punch of anxiolytic linalool and a nicely balanced cannabinoid profile to balance out the would be freak out level of Beta Myrcene.
