Prominent Republican senators announced on Friday that they have no intention of obstructing the Democrats’ efforts to replace the late Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California, on the Judiciary Committee.

This vacancy has left the Democrats without a majority on this critical panel.

Senator John Cornyn of Texas, a senior Republican member of the Judiciary Committee, stated to NBC News that he has no doubt that Democrats will be able to appoint a successor to her seat on the committee once a new senator takes office.

The passing of Senator Feinstein has resulted in an even split on the key panel responsible for processing President Joe Biden’s judicial nominees, with 10 members from each party, NBC News reported.
