Canadian Parliament Applauds Nazi SS

Zelensky gave a speech to the Canadian Parliament on the Ukraine war. As usual, the Ukrainian President demonized Russia and urged the Canadian people to provide more aid. In the crowd supporting Zelensky, was a 98 year former SS Stormtroopers that served with the Nazis. The Canadian Parliament gave the former SS commando a standing ovation, and applauded him for his fanatical valor. Weeks after this event occurred, the Jewish community expressed an outraged which forced the parliament to apologize. Was this silly incident an honest mistake?
