One day Jesus was in the home of Simon the Leper. A woman came in and broke an alabaster jar open and began to pour it out on His head. Then she got down on her knees and began to weep.

She washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head. She kissed His feet, then she anointed them with spikenard. His disciples had indignation and said to Him, "What is the purpose of this waste? The ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor."

Jesus said, "For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial."

We never know who it is among us whom God will take to heaven. Let us be like this woman and realize that time is the gift afforded to us while they are alive to speak words that will enter with them into eternity.

Let us become living alabaster jars that are broken open to pour out good words to all. Do not be filled with the spikenard of the Holy Spirit to kept trapped within cemented lids.

Let His love-life flow out of you so if they are taken home, you will have the joy and satisfaction of knowing you told them to the fullest how much you loved them.

"Too many of us never understand what we owe to our dear ones until there remains no further opportunity of paying love's debt." ~ J.R. Miller
