Their is a story in The Bible about a man names Ezra, The story begins with a decree by Cyrus to allow the Jews to return to Jerusalem.

Ezra lead the second wave of Jews back to Jerusalem in 458 BC. However their was a problem?

Ezra had told the king how great the God of the Jews was, how He was the only true God, sovereign and all powerful.

Well everyone was packed us and ready to leave when all the sudden they realized all the dangers that lie ahead, their were many enemies, roving bands of robbers, etc.

Ezra 8:22-23 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.23 So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated (To beg) of us.

Ezra and the Jews were forced to go it alone and trust in their God.

Ezra 8:31 Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.

Sometimes the exact same thing happens to us?

We tell everyone we are Christians and how great our God is, and how He meets all our needs!

And in the very next breath these same people hear us complaining?

Like Ezra we should be embarrassed to ever let anyone ever hear us complaining.

Php 4:11-13Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
