This video was originally attended for tik tok but account warnings preventing me from attempting upload so I decided to try a rumble. This video originally uploaded by daily mail shows the remarkable event of If Day, a simulated Nazi invasion and occupation of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on February 19, 1942. The event was organized by the Greater Winnipeg Victory Loan committee as a war bond promotion and a wake-up call to Canadians about the threat of fascism. More than 3,500 Canadian troops and volunteers dressed as German soldiers participated in the mock battle, arrest of local officials, imposition of Nazi rule, and parade. The event raised over $3 million for the war effort and captured national and international attention.
