IF ELECTED, I VOW TO:

GIVE BROOKHAVEN RESIDENTS A STRONGER VOICE
It appears to many that the current regime - one of which is running for mayor - has grown out of touch with the will and needs of the citizens. That voice and confidence needs to be restored.

REVIEW THE PLANS FOR THE $78 MILLION CITY HALL
Certainly this can be done for way less? Less than half that amount? The new city hall and other large expenditures will be reviewed to attempt to save the taxpayers millions of dollars.

PURSUE SIGNIFICANT TAX RELIEF
Many Brookhavenites are suffering from the recent, historic inflation. The Brookhaven government should initiate some relief. There needs to be significant rollbacks in millage rates for personal and business properties in order to offset the surge in property valuations over the last several years.

PUSH FOR SIGNIFICANT DEKALB SCHOOL TAX REDUCTION
An intense effort to lobby for a significant rollback in the millage rate on the DeKalb school taxes is pledged by forming a coalition of like-minded DeKalb County leaders.

GIVE SENIORS A BREAK
The surging property and school tax burden on seniors in Brookhaven and DeKalb is causing hardship. And seniors to leave the county? The income that seniors receive a reduction or elimination of the school and property tax needs to be raised significantly. The program needs to be in line with the other counties in Georgia that are more senior-friendly.

GIVE RENTERS A BREAK TOO
If Brookhaven apartment business owners get a property tax break, will they pass some of the savings along to their renters? Or at least, would it help curtail future increases? We have to try.

SLOW-ROLL ANY ANNEXATION EFFORTS
Any annexation needs to be voted on by Brookhaven residents and the accepted 60% standard of residents agreeing in planned annexation areas needs to be raised to 75%.

REDUCE THE CONTROVERSIES
There are many disconcerting controversies in Brookhaven. The current regime says they are "transparent" but the evidence would suggest otherwise.
