I am a 6'2" tall 260 pound man who needed a Kayak with stability and capacity to safely enjoy fishing, duck and deer hunting, and exploring. I embarked on finding that Kayak that best fit my needs. This video reviews the specific features and benefits that aligned themselves with safety in terms of stability and capacity, then second fishing and modularity. Old Town did several things that were real standouts on this Kayak. First the used scupper holes to increase the kayaks stability and safety should you Kayak fill with water. 2nd they integrated the Minn Kota Motor into the Old Town Sportsman 136 AP Kayak. This is huge for practicality! The Minn Kota AutoPilot with Spot-Lock Technology is easy to put into and take out of the Old Town 136 Kayak. It's really easy to access to change the prop, remove weeds or fishing line. In very shallow water the Minn Kota Motor will come out of the water in an instant, saving you from damage, time and money. Old Town also integrated Humminbird Fish Finders into their Old Town 136 Kayak. Humminbird is their sister company, so the Kayak is spec'd out for Humminbird Fish Finders making them extremely easy to install. The Kayak is a beast and very heavy for a Kayak, so I intend to trailer it. However, its beast like qualities also make it a better Kayak for me to survive unexpected weather and getting me off the lake safely.
