The IJN Yamato was the biggest battleship ever built. On the 25th of October, 1944, it participated in the Battle of Samar. During this battles used its cannons against the allied carriers, scoring a hit at 19 miles of distance while being attacked by bombers. It was the only time it used its cannons agains an enemy vessel.

This model is produced by Fujimi, scale 1/700. It is a snap-together model and the quality is good.
I complimented with:
- The extras made by Flyhawk for the rails, arrangements, anti air guns, cannons, and other parts.
- 3D printed sailors I found online. It would be great if the prices were lower for these as when I think about it, I need 3 or 4 kits of 50 sailors.
- Trumpeter 1/700 Avenger bombers.

For primer I used Vallejo Grey.
I used Tamiya acrylics for this model, they were:
- XF-8 - Blue
- XF-9 - Hull Red
- Xf-17 - Sea Blue
- XF-25 - Light Sea Grey
- XF-63 - German Grey
- XF-75 - IJN gray (Kure Arsenal)
- XF-78 - Wooden deck tan
- XF-83 - Medium Sea Grey 2
- Acrylics in tube blue, white, green.
- White and blue oil paints.

Other things I used are:
- Extra Heavy Gel for the ocean
- Plastic Putty
- Decalfix
- Liquid latex
- Files different grades
- 0.2 and 0.5 mm brass rods
- 0.75 and 0.25mm fibre optics
- 2mm Transparent acrylic sheets for the base and the display box

I hope you like it.
