Yes Activists Have Something to Hide

Watch what happens when I approached some "Yes" activists (who were campaigning in Melbourne) to ask them what their elevator pitch is to the Australian public for the Voice to Parliament Referendum

Memo to all "Yes" activists - if you are going to be out there in the public arena trying to sell an idea to the public on behalf of the government (while campaigning on taxpayer funds), then (in addition to engaging with the public) you should also expect to be approached by journalists and citizen journalists.

The prospect of being video recorded by a member of the public - who asks you what your elevator pitch is to the public- is to be expected and meant to be a given...its part and parcel of the democratic process and creates transparency.

If you don't like that idea...then don't go out into the public domain selling and promoting the government's position to the public on a public issue. It's that simple
