Russell Brand accused of rape, sexual assault and abusive behaviour

The comedian and actor Russell Brand has categorically denied historic allegations of rape, sexual assault and abusive behaviour, after a number of women came forward with allegations against him.

The claims are revealed in an investigation carried out by Dispatches, the Times and The Sunday Times, which has been published today. It reveals shocking accounts about Brand’s alleged predatory sexual behaviour between 2004 and 2013. During that time Brand was a household name, as a presenter on Channel 4’s Big Brother spin-off programme, and then a DJ on BBC Radio 2.

Channel 4 said it was “appalled to learn of the deeply troubling allegations” and has asked the relevant production company to investigate.
