During ABC News Live Prime's post-GOP debate coverage, political director Averi Harper was clearly disappointed that Republican candidates framed the Biden border crisis as a "wholly Democrat Party failure," and bemoaned the "finger-pointing and the platitudes that were made on that stage." -- "On the issue of immigration, a lot of heat over that situation at the border. We saw live shot from the border tonight. Ron DeSantis actually brought up again his idea of bringing military to the border if he’s elected president," anchor Linsey Davis noted before asking. "What were your thoughts as far as how the candidates framed that discussion?"

Harper whined: "I think with the exception of former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, all of the candidates on the stage really framed what’s happening at the border as a wholly Democrat Party failure. But the fact remains that both parties have really struggled to address the issue at the border and the issues of immigration, and the issue of migrants coming over." -- "Despite the finger-pointing and the platitudes that were made on that stage, in order to have any real path to resolution to a solution for this massive crisis that is now being felt in cities far from the southern border," she added. "It’s gonna take congressional action, just to see the images and the things that were said from the stage. It’s really an illustration of where the Republican Party is. And that’s far from the Democrat Party. So I think resolution on that issue is very far far off."
