psyche mission- charting the metallic world

The primary goal of the Psyche mission is to explore and study 16 Psyche, which is one of the most massive known asteroids in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Unlike most asteroids, Psyche is believed to be made almost entirely of metal, primarily composed of iron and nickel. Scientists are interested in studying Psyche to gain insights into the early solar system, particularly the processes that led to the formation of planets and their cores.
