In this video, I want to discuss the reasons for the deficiency of vitamin D in many people and what foods you can eat to fix this.

Our bodies need about 1200 IUs of vitamin D per day. It might go up or down, depending on different factors. For example, are you stressed out? This could actually be one of the reasons for the deficiency of vitamin D.

Foods high in vitamin D:

• Cod liver oil
• Fatty fish
• Butter
• Cheese
• Cream
• Raw-milk

Most people get vitamin D from the sun.

A few vitamin D benefits:

• Supports bone health
• Supports the immune system

Why, all of a sudden, does everyone have a deficiency in vitamin D?

• MDs have only recently been testing for vitamin D
• People don't go out in the sun as much
• Low-cholesterol diets—sun converts cholesterol into vitamin D
• Lack of bile—without bile you can't absorb vitamin D (Learn more about bile: https://www.drberg.com/blog/bile-a-vitally-important-fluid)
• Stress—cortisol

Vitamin D works naturally together with vitamin F. The function of vitamin D is to take the calcium from the stomach and put it into the blood. The purpose of vitamin F is to take calcium from the blood and put it into the skin tissues. That is why vitamin F is a protective mechanism against skin problems.

You don't just need vitamin D. You also need vitamin F to keep the whole process working. It's important to understand this process and to make sure to consume omega-3 fatty acids in your diet to help keep your body out of trouble.
