In this video, I want to answer these questions:
• What is cortisol?
• How can stress cause weight gain?

Cortisol is a hormone that reacts to stress. If you experience physical or mental stress, your body activates cortisol. This can be because of:
• Work stressors
• Relationship problems
• Losses
• Trauma
• Poor eating
• Watching the news
• Pregnancy
• Menopause
• Divorce

All of these trigger cortisol.

Cortisol changes the body and helps it adapt to stress. However, chronic stress can cause:
• Inflammation
• Brain fog
• High cholesterol
• Diabetes
• Ulcers
• Allergies
• Asthma
• Sleeping problems

These are all actually symptoms of high cortisol and stress. Rather than treating the symptoms, it’s best to fix the stress.

When stress builds up, you can’t lose weight—is nullifies the other fat-burning hormones. Fix the stress, and you’ll have a much easier time losing weight.
