'Invasion' Season 1, Episode 1 Instant Reaction

Join us this week as we kick off our commentary coverage of Invasion, by Story Archives. Week to week, hosts Mario Busto and Zachary Newton will be breaking down each episode of season one just in time for the premiere of season two on August 23rd. Starring Sam Neill, Shamier Anderson, and Shioli Kutsuna, Invasion is an Apple TV Plus Original Science Fiction (Sci-fi) series that follows the story of five ordinary people across the globe as they struggle to make sense of the chaos unraveling around them following an alien invasion that is a threat to humanity. On this week’s episode, we break down Season One, Episode One, titled ‘Last Day’. We are introduced to Jim Bell (Sam Neill), a Sheriff on his last day of work struggling with the idea of retiring with an unfulfilled career, Aneesha Malik (Golshifteh Farahani), a mother of two grappling with a recent discovery of her husband’s infidelity and whether her decision to throw away her Medical career was the right choice, and Mitsuki Yamato (Shioli Kutsuna), a JASA Engineer who is having an affair with Japan’s most popular Astronaut, Hinata, who is about to embark on a year-long stay at the International Space Station.

Invasion was created by Simon Kinberg (X-Men, The Martian, Deadpool) and David Weil (Hunters, Citadel) and premiered on October 22, 2021 on Apple TV+
