In this video, I want to cover what you need to know about vitamin D deficiency.

The main functions of vitamin D:
• It helps you absorb calcium
• It helps lower blood pressure
• It affects the immune system
• It can help prevent asthma

If you’re going to take vitamin D, you may see the best results by taking at least 10,000 IUs a day. But, if you’re out in the sun for just 20 minutes, you’re going to get about 30,000-35,000 IUs of vitamin D. Keep in mind, you also need to get plenty of vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 works with vitamin D to transport calcium through the body.

If you have a vitamin D deficiency, you could experience bone pain. Vitamin D is also very good to help prevent depression.

Causes of a vitamin D deficiency:
• Having your gallbladder removed
• High cortisol
• Not getting enough sun (try taking extra virgin cod liver oil)
• Not consuming enough foods that contain vitamin D
