In this video, we’re going to talk about ketosis, acne, and other skin issues.

Ketosis is the absolute best thing you can do to support healthy skin. It may help remedy issues like eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

Acne is typically a high androgens situation. Androgens are male sex hormones—however, women have smaller amounts of androgens too.

Androgens increase the oil on your skin and can create acne.

Why would your androgens be elevated? Insulin can throw your hormones—especially androgens—out of balance.

Junk foods, like refined carbohydrates, often cause high insulin. This is one reason why many teenagers have problems with acne.

High levels of insulin can also be caused by cortisol, which is released from your adrenal glands when you experience stress.

The best remedy for acne is the Healthy Keto diet. The keto diet is an eating plan where you lower your carbohydrates significantly, consume a moderate amount of protein, and increase your fat consumption.

Intermittent fasting can enhance the benefits of keto by reducing insulin spikes throughout the day. Every time you eat—even healthy food—you increase your insulin levels.

Intermittent fasting gives your body a break from insulin spikes by limiting your eating to 1-2 meals within a shorter period of time.
