In this video, we’re going to talk about the amazing benefits of intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting acts as a mild stress that triggers cellular adaptation and other changes in the brain and other parts of your body.

In other videos, I’ve talked about how intermittent fasting can have incredible effects on your midsection, weight, exercise performance, and muscles. In this video, I’m going to focus on the brain.

Intermittent fasting triggers something called brain-derived neurotrophic factor. This helps increase the survival of brain cells and improve the growth of new neurons in the hippocampus. The hippocampus acts as a built-in GPS—it helps you keep track of where you are in time and space. When you get Alzheimer’s disease, your hippocampus diminishes.

Insulin resistance also causes issues with the hippocampus. It can deprive it of oxygen and starve the hippocampus of nutrients.

Intermittent fasting helps inhibit amyloid plaguing. This is what causes dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Intermittent fasting induces autophagy. Autophagy is the process of getting rid of old or damaged cells.

If you or a loved one is experiencing any dementia symptoms, make sure you show them this video and tell them about these powerful benefits of intermittent fasting.
