CHINA AND THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TAKE BABY STEPS TOWARD FULL RECOGITION OF AFGHANISTAN

In the last two years since defeating America and its NATO allies in an armed conflict lasting 20 years, Afghanistan has absorbed two million people back out of the several million individuals who fled Afghanistan during the war and in the immediate aftermath of its ending. It has built the first railroad connection with Iran, thus connecting it with the Eurasian rail network which, significantly, India not has yet connected itself to, though it could have done so had political rivalry with China and Pakistan not gotten in the way. Additionally, Afghanistan now has the strongest currency in South Asia, out-performing even India on the foreign exchange markets.
