In this video, we’re going to talk about your body’s pH levels and answer the question, “is being acidic unhealthy?”

I hear a lot of people talk about how everyone needs to have a highly alkaline body. This isn’t always true.

First, you need to know that different parts of your body have different pH levels. Keep in mind that a pH of 7 is neutral. Anything lower is more acidic, and anything higher is more alkaline.
• Saliva 6.5-7.5
• Small intestine 7-8.5
• Large intestine 4-6
• Blood 7.35-7.45
• Stomach 1-3
• Urine 4.5-6

Acidity or alkalinity control your body’s ability to produce and release enzymes. For instance, if your stomach is not acidic enough, your body won’t release the enzyme peptidase. This is an incredibly important enzyme for digesting proteins. Without it, you won’t be able to break down foods.

If your stomach isn’t acidic enough, you won’t be able to break down bacteria and other pathogens. You also won’t be able to break down and use vitamins and minerals.

Differences in pH levels are also necessary to move fluids around the body.

Your stomach pH changes over time. You lose stomach acidity, and so your stomach becomes more alkaline.

If you have low stomach acidity, you may experience:
• Difficulty digesting meat
• Bloating
• Gas
• Ingestion

Taking antacids can cause these symptoms to become even worse because you’re further destroying your stomach’s acidity.

Apple cider vinegar is a fantastic remedy for low stomach acidity.
