Today we’re going to talk about the ketogenic diet and insomnia. Some people have sleeping problems when they start keto. Why does this happen, and what can you do? 

A few causes of insomnia on keto: 
1. Too much coffee
• Only have one small cup of coffee in the morning

2. Not doing intermittent fasting 
• Be sure to do keto and intermittent fasting together

3. Bloating from too much kale 
• Switch to other vegetables

4. Low potassium 
• Supplement with potassium citrate or my electrolyte powder 

5. Low vitamin B1 
• Take nutritional yeast 

6. Low calcium
 • Take calcium citrate or calcium magnesium before bed
 
7. Waking up with blood sugar fluctuations 
• Drink 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed in water about an hour and a half before bed
