Dr. Berg talks about prebiotics versus probiotics.
Probiotics are microorganisms that live in your body and skin. There are over 10 times as many microbes that live in your body than cells that make up the body. Microbes are responsible for about 90% of digestion that happens in the body. The prebiotic is the food(fiber) that feeds the microbes. The benefits of prebiotics help decrease: hunger, insulin resistance, and cortisol
Some of the fibers that feed microbes are:
Garlic
Onion
Asparagus
Leeks
Dandelion Green
Artichoke
Chicory root
Cultured vegetables
