What Causes Bruising (Without Trauma) – Dr. Berg

Bruising typically occurs when there's an injury or trauma to an area of the skin. But what really causes bruising without trauma?

In this video, I'm going to talk about what's really behind bruising and the several causes of this condition.

Several Causes of Bruising without Trauma

1. Vitamin C Deficiency
Vitamin C helps the capillaries with collagen. When you're deficient in vitamin C or have mild scurvy, you will have more burning and bleeding internally which also causes spider veins, spongy gums, or periodontal issues.

The root cause of vitamin c deficiency is not consuming enough vegetables in the diet. The body needs 7 to 10 cups of vegetables every single day.

Insulin resistance is also another cause of vitamin c deficiency.

2. Vitamin K1 Deficiency
Vitamin K1 is responsible for clotting factors. Leafy dark green vegetables are the best source of vitamin K1.

3. Adrenal Weakness
One of the functions of the adrenal gland is to store a lot of vitamin c and our body needs vitamin c to make adrenal hormones. But if you have adrenal problems, it'll deplete your vitamin c.

4. Warfarin - A blood thinner drug that prevents clotting.

Important note: You need the full vitamin c complex from food-based and not the synthetic version of vitamin c that is made corn stalks and sulfuric acid which has really no vitamin c in it.

Foods High in Vitamin C
1. Bell Pepper
2. Parsley
3. Spinach
4. Kale
5. Salad Greens / Vegetables
