In this video, we’re going to talk about LDL in simple terms.

LDL stands for low-density lipoprotein protein. Now, it’s not actually cholesterol. It’s a protein carrier. Protein doesn’t mix with water well, so it needs to be shuttled. However, LDL does contain cholesterol.

People consider LDL bad because it carries cholesterol to the arteries. HDL then takes the cholesterol out of the arteries and sends it to your liver.

Every single cell in your body creates cholesterol. In fact, your body creates about 3,000 mg of cholesterol every single day. You need it to survive.

LDL directly binds and inactivates bacterial toxins, which prevents damage to your body. It even helps heal your cells.

The primary causes of high LDL are:
1. High insulin, pre-diabetes, and diabetes
2. Hypothyroidism
3. Infection
4. Leaky gut
5. Genetics
6. Stress
7. Surgery
8. Visceral fat

Instead of trying to get rid of LDL, try asking yourself why it’s high to begin with. Do you have one of the issues we talked about above? Address those first before you start cutting all cholesterol out of your diet.
