Benfotiamine can be purchased anywhere online - I do not have a specific brand I recommend - and as far as the amounts, use what is indicated on the label.

In this video, Dr. Berg talks about how to prevent diabetes. Insulin resistance is a defense mechanism against the toxic effects of sugar. The body will then compensates by then making more insulin, which causes damage to 4 main cells: endothelial cells (arteries), retinal cells, kidney cells, and nerve cells (peripheral cells).

These 4 types of cells do not regulate glucose like the rest of the cells in the body. Of course, to prevent diabetes type 2, you need to avoid sugar, get on a low-carb diet, and consume lots of nutrient-rich nutrients and healthy fats, as well as use intermittent fasting, which can also lower your risks and stress on the insulin hormone.

There is something in the mitochondria that gets damaged BEFORE you can even get insulin resistance. Vitamin B1 helps reduce the damage in the mitochondria and if you took a version of B1 called Benfotiamine, you could reduce the destruction even more.
