In this video, I’ll talk about a condition called acanthosis nigricans, which causes your skin folds to become darker in places including your armpits, forehead, and groin. If you or someone you know has this condition, you know they’re consuming frequent high-carb meals resulting in high insulin.

High insulin causes acanthosis nigricans, along with insulin resistance — a pre-diabetic condition. People with diabetes can also develop darkened skin folds.

But you can reverse acanthosis nigricans if you reduce your insulin. I recommend doing keto and intermittent fasting to get your insulin levels down.

I also want to mention there’s another condition that mimics acanthosis nigricans. It’s called pellagra. It’s not as common but can give you a similar darkening around your neck. Pellagra is caused by a vitamin B3 deficiency, often caused by eating too many ground corn products such as grits or corn chips.

If your skin folds have darkened, I encourage you to do keto and intermittent fasting to lower your insulin and reverse the condition.
