In this video, we’re going to talk about carb cycling and why it doesn’t work with keto. Most people burn sugar for energy and are running on glycogen before they decide to switch to keto.
Through a process known as keto adaptation, they begin burning fat for energy. You have significantly more stored fat than stored sugar, which is why keto works incredibly well.
People often want to consume carbs during keto adaptation for performance purposes and to feel better in general. Instead of consuming carbs, allow your body time to adapt to ketosis. You will find that once fully adapted, your performance and energy levels will be very high and your blood sugar will be stable.
Carb cycling on keto prevents keto adaptation, so your body never fully adapts to running on fat. If your body needs glucose, it will make it!
