In this video, we’re going to take a look at some of the effects of alcohol on keto. Even though some types of alcohol contain zero carbs, you should still avoid alcohol on keto.
Alcohol acts as a toxin in your liver. It kills your liver cells and even kills your brain cells. Alcohol leads to a fatty liver which causes inflammation and can eventually lead to cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is very difficult, if not impossible to reverse.
Alcohol depletes B vitamins and dehydrates you. Alcohol also stops fat burning and kicks you out of ketosis! After drinking alcohol, you’re not going to burn fat for at least 48 hours.
